Several Django projects get Potato-powered.
Potato are pleased to announce that we will be helping out on a number of fronts related to the Django non-rel open source project - the platform on which we build the majority of apps, as previous supporters All Buttons Pressed take a step back from their open source commitments.
Django non-rel adds non-relational database support to the Django object-relation mapper, while the djangoappengine project provides related database support for App Engine. Other off-shoots provide Django backends for caching, sessions, authentication and file upload (among other things).
In addition to these interesting projects, Potato will also be helping out with djangotoolbox (which provides additional Django functionality which is specific to non-relational databases, such as new model fields like SetField, ListField, and DictField), dbindexer and non-rel search - again previously supported by All Buttons Pressed. You can browse all our open source code in our Lab.
Potato's open-source efforts will be headed-up by Wilfred Hughes, with support from the rest of the company's 50-plus team.
